A ProMax is essentially two Aquamax pond pumps combined into one and augmented with extra features. Each unit is supplied complete with a remote control which allows you to vary the flow rate between a trickle and maximum capacity or to turn the pump on and off.

ProMax are supplied with a special 1½" adapter to connect the pump to a surface skimmer like the Oase Aquaskim. Surface skimmers serve a dual purpose – to draw debris like fallen leaves from the surface of the water into the pump and filter system, and in larger ponds to make sure the full volume of water is filtered in a timely fashion, not just the local area around the pump.
A large gauge strainer (up to 8mm solids are admitted) makes the ProMax resistant to clogging or slow down due to accumulated debris around the pump case. Maintenance in cleaner ponds is usually unnecessary, pumps sited in more heavily silted areas may need the occasional brushing to clear the case but this will be very infrequent.
